Affordable Organic Food for All

Organic Buyers Group Hub (OBGH) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation helping Sydney households access certified organic fruit and vegetables at prices that are often comparable to what many people pay for conventional produce.
We work to create a fairer, healthier, more sustainable and more community-connected food system.

A Box Full of Seasonal Certified Organic Produce

Our boxes contain a mix of 100% certified organic fruit and vegetables, selected based on what is in season and what represents the best value from our suppliers each week.
The wholesale price of organic fruit and vegetables is often similar to the retail price of conventional fruit and vegetables. As a result, our boxes typically provide:
  • * At least as much produce as you would expect when spending the same amount at a supermarket for non-organic produce.
  • * Significantly more produce than is usually available through conventional organic retailers.
  • * Access to certified organic food at a price that makes regular organic eating more achievable.
Depending on your household and eating habits, a box is generally enough to supply a family of four for approximately one week.

How It Works

  1. 1) Order your weekly organic box.
  2. 2) Collect your box from your pickup location.
  3. 3) Help divvy the produce with other members.
  4. 4) Take home fresh certified organic fruit and vegetables.

Box and Membership Prices

All boxes contain the same selection of seasonal certified organic fruit and vegetables. The contents don't change between box types - only the price. Members and subscribers receive discounted pricing, while trial boxes allow new customers to try OBG before joining.

  • * Member Subscription (Weekly or Fortnightly) - $45 per box
  • * Member Box - $46 per box
  • * Trial Box - $52 per box

  • * Annual Membership - $45/year
  • * Low Income Membership - $10/year

Why Become a Member and/or Subscribe?
By becoming a member or subscriber, you'll enjoy affordable access to certified organic fruit and vegetables while supporting a community-based food system that benefits both households and farmers. Members receive discounted box pricing, while subscribers receive our lowest box price and the convenience of an automatic weekly or fortnightly order. Subscriptions can be paused or cancelled with two weeks' notice, providing flexibility as your circumstances change. Your support also helps grow demand for organic produce, strengthen local volunteer-run groups, and create a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system.

Collection Information

Please note: we do not deliver.
Orders must be collected from your nominated pickup location during the collection window.
Our model relies on members helping to divvy (sort and distribute) produce within their local group. This helps keep costs low, reduces waste and strengthens local community connections.
If you are unable to collect your box during the collection period, it may be left outside for later collection at your own risk.

Ordering Windows and Shop Availability

Our shops are only open when we are accepting orders for the next pickup.

Monday Pickup Groups - Lane Cove, Maroubra, Randwick, Redfern and Summer Hill
  • * Open: Monday 9:00pm to Saturday 9:00pm
  • * Closed: Saturday 9:00pm to Monday 9:00pm

Thursday Pickup Groups - Bondi, Camperdown, North Sydney, Rozelle, South Coogee and Sutherland
  • * Open: Thursday 9:00pm to Tuesday 9:00pm
  • * Closed: Tuesday 9:00pm to Thursday 9:00pm
During closure periods volunteers are finalising orders.
If you cannot see your preferred pickup location, it is likely because ordering has closed for that week's pickup. The shop will reopen at approximately 9:00pm on the pickup day for orders for the following week.

If you need a box sooner, you may be able to order through one of the groups operating on the other pickup day, provided their ordering window is currently open.
For example:
  • * If your usual pickup is on a Monday and ordering has closed, you may still be able to order through a Thursday group.
  • * If your usual pickup is on a Thursday and ordering has closed, you may still be able to order through a Monday group.

Why Affordable Organic Food Matters

Many people want to buy organic food but find the cost difficult to justify in a household budget.
At OBGH, we believe affordability is one of the biggest barriers to growing the organic sector. If organic food is only accessible to a small part of the community, demand remains limited and fewer farmers are encouraged to make the transition to organic production.
By making certified organic food more affordable, we help:
  • * Introduce more households to organic food.
  • * Increase demand for environmentally sustainable agriculture.
  • * Support farmers who invest in organic production.
  • * Grow a stronger and more resilient organic food sector.
  • * Create a fairer food system for both consumers and producers.
Our community-based model allows us to keep costs low while supporting a more sustainable future for food.

More Than Just a Box of Produce

In addition to supporting local organic food distribution, OBGH:
  • * Increases access to affordable organic food.
  • * Supports fair and ethical food systems.
  • * Helps create fair outcomes for farmers and producers.
  • * Advocates for environmentally sustainable agriculture.
  • * Builds local community connections through volunteer-run groups.
  • * Promotes education and awareness about sustainable food systems.
  • * Strengthens local communities through participation and mutual support.

Every box supports a stronger network of consumers, farmers, volunteers and communities working together to build a better food system.
