Melbourne Farmers’ Markets (MFM) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Victorian food and producers, regional food cultures, seasonal produce, biodiversity, sustainable farming practices and the strengthening of relationships between the consumer and the producer.
About Us
Melbourne Farmers Markets (MFM) is a not for profit social enterprise connecting urban communities with Victorian farmers while promoting seasonal produce, biodiversity and sustainable farming practices. We manage ‘accredited’ markets across Melbourne, which means there’s no wholesalers or re-sellers, just real food direct from the people who produce it. MFM is dedicated to building resilience, success and recognition for regional food producers.
The markets offer Victorian growers and makers an opportunity to take credit and full dollar for their efforts. We make it easy for the public to buy seasonal produce straight from its source and help farmers to increase their volumes and profitability, sell surplus and ‘imperfect’ produce, maintain and build regional communities. Our markets mean younger generations can create a viable livelihood on farms; they also have a positive impact on mental health for an often isolated demographic of the community.
We have markets on every week. You will find us on Wednesday at the University of Melbourne Parkville campus, on Saturday at Carlton Primary School, Fairfield Primary School, Coburg North Primary School, Slow Food Melbourne at the Abbotsford Convent, Collingwood Children's Farm, Gasworks in Albert Park, and on Sunday at Eastland in Ringwood. For more details regarding market dates and times, visit us at www.mfm.com.au.
